Driver - Ben Gott

Ben has been involved in off road motor sport for as long as he has been able to walk (probably before) and has competed in numerous Safari and Hill Rally events over the years. He has driven a number of different vehicles, starting out as many drivers do in a modified Landrover Defender 90 before eventually moving up to a Warrior Indy Car, the regular vehicle for a couple of seasons. Ben also had a couple of outings in a Bowler Wildcat 200. Having decided to build a new vehicle the Warrior was sold, the TMC frame purchased and the build commenced .Although during this period Ben has spend little time behind the wheel he has by no means been away from motor sport and has for the last three years driven support trucks in rally raid events, most notably the Dakar but also in Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco.

Ben is by no means leaving his rally raid expeditions behind, but has an ambition to drive competitively in the Dakar and so needs to get back behind the wheel. With the completion of the TMC this year he is going to be taking part primarily in the British off Road Championship, but hopes to appear in other events throughout the year.

Based on his previous results in the Warrior Ben has proved he has the pace to compete with the top teams in the championship. Reliability problems with the Warrior always led to disappointing results, his best being a second overall. Despite this he was always able to display fast times, and occasionally fastest times at every event he entered. This year with a new, reliable (hopefully) car Ben is hoping to achieve that elusive event victory and enter a serious assault on the championship..

Navigator - Steve Hare

Steve has known Ben for 12 years and has been racing with him for 7 years. He was introduced into the sport by Ben. Having attended a Safari Event with Ben and the Warrior, he got the bug and has been racing next to Ben ever since. Having been involved with the development and construction of the TMC over the last few years he, like Ben, knows the vehicle like the back of his hand, an important knowledge for both driver and navigator. Sadly, Steve has not been in the passenger seat since Ben last raced and so is greatly looking forward to the new season.
