Introduction

Welcome to Keith Gott Racing. This website will be following the team over the 2008 Britpart British Cross Country Championship and any other events that we do in between, plus keep you upto date with team news, projects and any other semi-interesting things that we can tell you about.

The web site was set up at the start of 2006 and after a crash halfway through that season, hasn't really had much done since. We have now finished the 07 season, plus the BAJA GB and a few other events and are going to be back up to speed for next year. There will be lots of changes to the website coming up over the next few weeks - including information about Ray Windust from "The Rough Guide to the BORC". He is now also back on the case and has some great ideas for the season ahead.

Finally my news about Dakar 2008. I was invited at the start of November to navigate in a Bowler Nemesis for Paul Mitson, UK Track driver and up and coming Cross Country Rally driver. Of Course I jumped at the chance after 4 years of the Assistance route and upto date news will be posted below.

Please keep checking back regularly and enjoy what we can offer, Cheers, Ben Gott

17/01/08 THIS YEARS PLANS. UK AND ABROAD

Sorry for the delay, iv'e been building workshops and playing in the sand pit in self pity. Dakar was cancelled, for the right reasons i think. So on with the rest of the year.

Paul and I are discussing the events over this year at the moment. Idea's are the World Cup and an event being put on by the ASO from Hungry heading east around easter time. Of course I will bring what I can from all.

We hope to do testing before then locally, hopefully around the Aldershot area. Again info will be published.

Finally, there will be new photo's and video's of The Nemesis, Lisbon, The Autosport's Show, New workshop and The TMC soon... Updated pages basically... If any one has any idea's or want's to help, please contact me at ben@keithgott.co.uk

DAKAR 2008 - NEMESIS DESIGN AND SPONSORS UNVAILED:-

As the build of the vehicle carries on, the Factory has produced the design for the final look of the vehicle. There are two main sponsors backing the vehicle for the event. They are SpinVox and Powermann. Paul Mitson has a very good working relationship with both companies, using there expertise in the everyday workings of his own company, and when Paul asked if they would like to be part of this Dakar Team they both jumped at the chance.

DAKAR 2008:-

Paul Mitson and Ben Gott to enter Dakar 2008 in the New Bowler Nemesis

For those of you that don't know, I have spent the last 4 years being involved in the Dakar Rally. Over the years I have covered the whole range of jobs needed on the assistance side of the event. Mechanic, Car and Truck driver, Parts manager and Team manager. All for Bowler and also with Charlie Boorman's Race to Dakar team. To my delight, this has helped me earn the navigator's postion with Paul.

I will post as much news about the build up to the Rally here as i can over the next few weeks. You can see this years route here, or learn more about the Bowler Nemesis

RAY WINDUST UPDATE:-

Hello everyone,

It's Ray, one half of MBM, the team that bought you The Rough Guide videos last year. As the forums are down at the moment, I asked Ben if I could borrow a bit of his site to see if anyone was interested in an idea I had for the 2008 season. I want to see how many people would like a programme detailing their racing season in the 2008 BORC. I have a number of packages I can offer from something basic right up to a fully produced programme in the style of MBM's Rough Guide To Off Road that seemed to go down quite well as the 2006 season wound down. I managed to get some details about this idea out to some of the competitors at the last stage at Radnor and there was some positive feedback but I want to open this out to as many people who might be interested as possible, and yes, that does mean you.

Have a look at my site at www.windust-ops.com and get in touch. When the boards are back up, I’ll post this there too.

Thanks, Ray.
